International Exams

Cambridge College is an International Examination Centre endorsed by the University of Cambridge, England. This distinction allows the school to administer two internationally recognized licenses:

  • Cambridge International Assessment, as a Cambridge International School and International Examination Centre (CIE), enabling the administration of IGCSE and AS Level examinations

  • Cambridge English Qualifications (Cambridge English Assessment), which certifies English language proficiency through globally recognized examinations.

These certifications provide students with internationally valid academic credentials and open doors to universities around the world.

Young Learners Starters

This international examination is taken in Year 3 and is also known as YLE Pre-Starters. It introduces children to English in a fun and motivating way, helping them build confidence and develop early language skills.

Skills developed:

• Enjoys books, songs, television programs, cartoons, and movies in English.

• Understands basic English content.

Young Learners Movers

This international examination is taken in Year 4 and is also known as YLE Movers. It introduces children to everyday spoken and written English while strengthening their confidence in the language.

Skills developed:

• Understands basic instructions and participates in simple conversations.

• Understands basic notices, instructions, and information.

• Completes simple forms and writes notes including times, dates, and places.

Young Learners Flyers

This international examination is taken in Year 5 and is also known as YLE Flyers. It develops children’s ability to use spoken and written English in familiar, everyday situations.

Skills developed:

• Understands elementary written English.

• Communicates in familiar situations.

• Understands and uses basic phrases and expressions.

• Interacts with English speakers who speak slowly and clearly.

A2 Key (KET)

This international examination is taken in Year 7 and is also known as A2 Key. It certifies that students can understand, write, and speak simple English for everyday use.

Skills developed:

• Understands simple texts.

• Communicates in informal situations.

• Introduces themselves and shares personal information.

• Interacts with English speakers who speak slowly.

• Writes short notes.

B1 Preliminary (PET)

This international examination is taken in Year 9 and is also known as B1 Preliminary. It represents an intermediate level and certifies that students can read, write, and speak English with growing complexity.

Skills developed:

• Communicates with native speakers.

• Reads and writes simple texts and articles.

• Understands instructions.

• Travels as a tourist and communicates effectively.

• Writes informal letters and emails.

B2 First (FCE)

This international examination is taken in Year 12 and is also known as B2 First. It represents an upper-intermediate level and certifies that students can use English for academic or professional purposes abroad.

Skills developed:

• Strong linguistic competence.

• Understands complex topics.

• Maintains extended conversations.

• Expresses opinions and writes complex texts.

C1 Advanced (CAE)

This international exam is taken in Year 13. C1 Advanced certifies that the student can develop both in professional activity and in residence in another country.

Skills granted:

• Academic achievement test.

• High level English test endorsed by institutions.

• Enabled for visa applications.

• Superior linguistic competence.

C2 Proficiency (CPE)

This is the highest-level certification offered at Cambridge College. Taken in Year 13, C2 Proficiency certifies that students have reached a near-native level of English.

Skills developed:

• Fluent and sophisticated communication.

• Academic and professional performance at a native level.

• Preparation for postgraduate and doctoral studies.

• Ability to negotiate, argue, and express opinions with precision.

Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT)

TKT is a series of modular teaching qualifications which test your knowledge in specific areas of English language teaching. It will help you to build your confidence, and is a cost-effective way to get an internationally recognised qualification. You can take this qualification even if you're not very experienced.
